The objective was to analyze, from the perspective of regionalization, the distribution of cases of viral hepatitis and health services to care for this disease, identifying state management strategies to favor access. This is an evaluative research of sequential mixed method developed in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Secondary data analyzed by descriptive statistics and georeferencing were used. Managers of the technical area and reference services were interviewed by semi-structured script. The content was analyzed from the thematic analysis. The highest frequency of notification is hepatitis B and deaths from Hepatitis C both in the Central North macroregion. There are 26 specialized services, higher concentration in the South macro-region, a health region (RS) does not have a reference service. There are 119 services that offer rapid testing, higher concentration in the East and North Center macro-region and rs Garças Araguaia and Baixada Cuiabana. There is no collection of viral load in the West macroregion and in three RS. It is noteworthy that five RS do not offer treatment. From the thematic analysis emerged the category "Strategies to advance in coping with viral hepatitis" which groups devices that relate to the participation of state management in health surveillance, in the analysis of the user's care trajectory for planning, investment and organization actions of the health care network. Management should consider governance to overcome resource asymmetries and enhance the organization of the care network through regionalization, to agree actions that strengthen the achievement of the goals of the 2030 agenda.
