PERCEPÇÕES DE PESSOAS IDOSAS SOBRE A IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DE POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS MUNICIPAIS DIRECIONADAS AO ENVELHECIMENTO

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to understand the perceptions of older adults regarding the implementation of ageing-focused public policies in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We conducted 12 interviews with older adults belonging to health support and education groups of Family Health Strategy, followed by a thematic Content Analysis in the thematic modality proposed by Minayo. The categories were: Perceptions about ageing; and Municipal public policies focused on ageing. In the perception of the interviewees, public policies are implemented, but also there is the presence of vulnerabilities in the service network, with aspects to be improved in the application of the Elderly Health Handbook, in addition to guaranteeing food aid and qualification of public spaces.
