INDICATORS OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT: ACHIEVEMENTS FOR A MUNICIPAL ANALYSIS PROPOSAL

Indicators of development can be created by using many different methods, depending on the dimensions to be comprehended and the concepts we consider. This article aims to contribute to the analysis of the rural development process in a municipal level, by using the method proposed by Kageyama (2008), which approaches the rural development process from a multidimensional view. We also intend to point the necessary adaptation for this method to perform municipal analysis, identifying its progresses and limitations. It concludes that the method proceeds by its procedure feature, but is limited by the difficulty on presenting the municipal data for the creation of indicators.Downloads
