The aim of this study is to analyze the change of the production structure and the perception of the concept of innovation in the enterprise sector of the city of Toledo-PR. This city presented a significant restructuring process since 2000. It used a wide range of secondary and primary data to characterize the production and population structure, the profile of specialization, employment and the variables that can explain the productive restructuring, development and perception of innovations. It was concluded that there is a restructuring process still under development. A parallel with the theoretical review showed that the municipality needs to create C & T & I infrastructure and promoting productive territorial integration. In Toledo, the concern of promoting the classic development components (industrialization and linkages effects and export and the development of logistics infrastructure) is still very strong, when the bet should focus on creating an innovative means, associated with a 'productive learning' from existing specializations, under a process of creating innovation and local technology.Downloads
