Tendencies of development: elements for reflection on the social dimensions of contemporary times

The contemporary aspects of the concept of development are discussed, specifically in a tone pointing to theorical trends and practices to think about the direction of the social order, science, society, environment, economy, the human and planetary condition. From this perspective, the objective is to locate the winning and major thought about development in order to, a posteriori, bring opposing elements to the homogenous tendencies ruled by economic performance. The assumption of the discussion is the understanding of the topic development in the plural, developments, in amplitude, beyond the economic, but it does not distance itself from the political processes bound to economics, the role of the state, the interests of the market, the social dimensions. The wager is multidisciplinary, because it involves fields of knowledge and production of diverse knowledge, but the imagination of the route inflected to is sociology. This wager gains relevance, keeping in mind, that the economic opening and the restructuring of production, in which new demands for commitments to the social, are observed; responsibilities and humanizing dimensions, increasingly bring more demands, exigencies, and multifaceted answers and difficult to understand for only eye.
