Note on region of influence of Western Cities Central region Paraná

Abstract

The regions of influence to attract other important activities for management and location decisions of new offices or business units. The greater the influence of a city around it, the greater its power of attraction and passes it induces consequent urban sprawl, because the dynamics of business generate flows of capital and people, spreading decisions, defining and allocating investment relations. This study examines the relationship between the cities of the West Central region of Paraná State. The methodology used was the theoretical-methodological and empirical benchmark by means of field surveys to residents and businesses of Goioerê health of the municipalities of Campo Mourão and Umuarama. The results show that travel costs are not significant between the cities of the region and the availability of specialized health services, the number of establishments and the representation of businesses generate the interaction between cities, horizontal relationships of complementarity, which can be defined by specialization, functional division of activities and by offering differentiated services.
